this small scale cafe sits on the bank of regent's canal and has recently received the timeout 2010 cafe award runner up. rustic and casual, it is a wonderful place to spend time people-watching on a sunny day while taking a sip of a florentine coffee. food was however average and menu was understandably brief given the space. but i am assured that there will be hundreds of grateful stoppers by, especially in the rain, for this shelter and the comfort it offers.

hel yes! pop up restaurant
temporarily to set up to answer questions such as -
can furniture be made from trees thinned out from the forest?
can a restaurant gather ingredients straight from the forest?
indeed I can testify HEL YES!
it is as if you enter a kind of experimental exhibition. upon arrival, i was given a programme booklet detailing all the work different artists have put in this space. i was then sharing tables with 2 other couples in a set of limited edition chairs by Artek interwined with slim trunks. the freshness of the wild mushroom hash with poached egg tastes just like it comes straight out from the gatherer's basket.
a truly extraordinary exhibition/interaction about and around food.

45-47 clerkenwell Road, clerkenwell, london,EC1M 5RS
A Bar-Café-Deli-Diner thats sits quietly on clerkenwell road with a retro-sci-fi-esque deco. you can easily feel relaxed the with informal seating, diner style bar and open kitchen. a place that you can sit down for hours on a Sunday afternoon. The eggs benedict with pancetta - and a buttery hollandaise sauce placed on top of a foccacia bread - was different and memorable.
